Tyra Banks has walked away from her second shot at talk show stardom. After just three months on the air, the former supermodel announced her exit from ABC’s syndicated talk show “FABLife,” on Friday, Nov. 20, citing her desire to focus on her cosmetics line, Tyra Beauty.
“This is a very difficult decision, but necessary,” said Banks in a statement to the Los Angeles Times. “I will be devoting more time to my new, growing cosmetics company, Tyra Beauty, which is expanding faster than anticipated, as well as overseeing my company’s other entertainment ventures.”
However, it appears Banks will stay on through the Christmas holiday as an executive producer with hopes to “continue to support the growth and success of ‘FABLife,'” she added.
And while the 41-year-old was adamant that there’s no bad blood between she and her co-workers, Chrissy Teigen, Joe Zee, Leah Ashley, Lauren Maak, and the production team, TMZ is telling a different story. It’s no secret that the freshman talk show has been struggling. According to TMZ, this created a lot of tension between Banks and one of the executive producers (who already did not get along). To make matters worse, rumor has it Banks was particularly upset because she felt she had been double-crossed: “She claimed show honchos promised to push her cosmetics line much harder than they did,” claimed a source. So, she walked out in a fit. Banks on the other hand, has not commented on the alleged TyTy tantrum.
Just last month, the Daytime Emmy-winning host announced that she’ll be wraping up her hit model competition show, “America’s Next Top Model,” after 12 years and 22 cycles. “Thinking #ANTM22 should be our last cycle. I truly believe it’s time,” she confirmed with a tweet last month.
