Cynthia Bailey and Peter Thomas have given viewers a front-row seat for the past three weeks as cameras have followed the breakdown of their marriage over issues like distance, lack of communication and romance, and perhaps most devastating, a video of Thomas touching another woman intimately in one of his bars. Although Bailey has had a tough time keeping things peaceful with her other cast mates as well, her frenemy Phaedra Parks recently spoke about Bailey’s marital woes and she wasn’t as negative about their marriage as many would think.
In her latest Bravo blog, Parks wrote about the couple’s relationship problems and explained that she’s rooting for them to stay together.
“My heart went out to both of them; they are not in a good place and I pray for them to get the answers they need to move forward with their lives. It is incredibly painful when you realize a marriage is not working, and it’s so easy to get lost when you are making decisions about whether or not a relationship should continue. I think deep down Peter is starting to recognize the error of his ways and realize just how much he loves Cynthia, and Cynthia seems to be very in touch with her feelings and is trying to be honest with Peter. Marriage is hard, and it is even harder when your marriage is under public scrutiny. I wish them both the best,” Parks shared.
It’s certainly surprising to see her say that considering Bailey accused Parks of cheating on Apollo Nida last season.
However, Bailey recently spoke about her broken friendship with Parks and explained that it’s on the mend.
“My friendship with Phaedra is in a good place right now. We are not close, but I am optimistic that we can start over with a clean slate. A while back, I brought some information that Apollo told Peter to the group regarding her marriage that really hurt her. I am deeply sorry for doing that. I have apologized to her since then, and was happy to have the opportunity to apologize again one-on-one. I applaud her for inviting me for tea to talk, and being woman enough to put our past issues in the past, therefore allowing us to move -forward. Forgiveness is the only way to stop the hurt,” Bailey told Bravo.
