Viral sensation James Wright is living proof that the Internet can make you a star.
In case you missed it, Wright’s life got one heck of an upgrade last week after he uploaded a video reviewing Patti LaBelle’s sweet potato pies and it went viral. In return, Wright was invited to spend Turkey Day with the legendary vocalist, which he commemorated via Facebook in a series of video clips. “Patti LaBelle Cooked Her Face Off,” posted Wright on Friday, Nov. 27, 2015 via Facebook.
On top of digging into drool-worthy dishes, Wright engaged in a duet with the 71-year-old, on her hit single “You Are My Friend.”
“Singing and dancing with Miss Patti LaBelle,” he captioned the video.
It just so happens, it was also his birthday. “This has been the best Thanksgiving ever, and it’s also been the best birthday ever and I’m very very grateful,” Wright wrote on his Facebook page. She bestows him Louis Vuitton luggage, “James is going to be a world traveler,” Labelle says of the man whom she says is one of her angels.
As you may recall, LaBelle credited the success of her holiday pies to Wright, so it only made sense that he got the opportunity to share a slice with the queen.
“This pie has been doing really, really well,” she said in an interview with “Good Day Philadelphia”. “My new friend James Wright did this fierce video and it took the pie over the top and people were losing their minds.”
He chronicles the entire experience on his Facebook page.
