Congrats are in order for Drizzy Drake, whose Tom Ford lippie sold out within minutes. In case you’re playing catch up, the Toronto rapper was honored by Tom Ford’s “Lips & Boys” with his very own signature shade. In fact, the rapper was one of 25 men honored by the collection including Addison, the designer’s first crush; Rory, Ford’s best friend; and Richard Buckley, his husband.
Now, the metallic violet-burgundy shade named for the rapper, has sold out, not only online at tomfordbeauty.com and Net-a-porter’s U.S. Web site, but also at Ford’s stores in New York and Chicago, reports WWD. In fact, the nod was gone within minutes. So naturally, the 29-year-old rapper took to Instagram to joke about the popularity of his namesake shade, which retails for $35, writing: “My mom bought all of them. Hey Ma.”
Luckily for fans, Net-a-Porter promises that more stock of the “Hotline Bling” recording artist’s shade is coming soon. In the meantime, the lipstick has found its way to eBay, where it is being sold for between $80 and $200. A full set including all 50 of the 2015 shades is also listed for $2,387.95 on eBay. It’s safe to say there’s still plenty of demand. His followers began freaking out about getting their hands on the shade, via Twitter writing: “OMG RESTOCK PLZ.” Another fan added, “Look I love you and I love makeup! My two favorite things came together and I missed it! I’m literally dying!”
