According to Lovebscott.com, Brown started his rant by posting and then deleting a tweet from a fan about the supposed lack of support from fans over Brown’s new album.

“I’m confused how Chris can post a selfie of him & Royalty can get 200-300 likes, but some fan’s wouldn’t buy his s–t for 4.99 or stream,” the tweet read.

According to reports, Royalty is expected to sell anywhere between 125K-135K by the end of the week and Brown dropped the price of the album to $4.99 for a limited time for fans. Although the sales figures aren’t horrible, especially considering how R&B artists are struggling these days with sales, the projections aren’t exactly stellar either.

However, another theory is that Brown’s rant was in response to a negative album review from Complex writer Michael Arceneaux.

“‘Royalty’ is many things all at once though much of it is not particularly good,” he reviewed.

“One minute Brown is a singer, the next a rapper and not long after the quintessential pop act. It’s fine to have many facets of yourself but without vision and in Brown’s case understanding the virtues of editing, the end result is a mess,” added Arceneaux.

Well, that’s certainly a scathing review of Brown’s album. Hopefully, he’s having a better day now.
