Congrats are in order for Carolina Panthers quarterback Cam Newton!
According to reports, the footballer who nailed a “rocking the baby” dance in Sunday’s 20-13 loss to the Atlanta Falcons, is now a dotting dad. On Wednesday, Dec. 30. Newton shared that he and his longtime girlfriend, Kia, were “blessed” with a son last week. The baby was born on Christmas Eve, sources tell ESPN.

Apparently, Newton was hesitant about breaking the good news because he didn’t want to distract his teammates during the season. He tweeted:
I’ve been quiet about this because I didn’t want to create a distraction for my team and appreciate the privacy in this joyous time.

Newton left practice early on Christmas Eve to handle what coach Ron Rivera called a family issue that wasn’t negative, says ESPN. If you ask us, welcoming a beautiful babe into the world is cause for early dismissal. Just this month, Newton, Bristol Palin, Mark Zuckerberg and Priscilla Chan, Kim Kardashian and Kanye West and Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson, to name a few, have all welcomed wonderful additions to their families.
