Sometimes angels come in unexpected forms. Sometimes they come in the form of 2 Chainz.
The popular Atlanta rapper recently came to the rescue of a family of 11 in dire need of shelter by donating a five-bedroom, two bath house through his TRU Foundation.
In a touching video posted to his Youtube page yesterday, 2 Chainz welcomes the overwhelmed family into their new home. Before the generous donation made by the “Watch Out” rapper, the family had been living in a small two-bedroom home with no heat that was infested with rats, roaches, and mold. Furthermore, the family, which includes two sets of twins, was on the verge of being evicted from their home.
It was a GoFundMe campaign created by Atlanta’s Progression Church that caught the rapper’s attention and persuaded him to step in to help, though he says he’s not looking to gain anything from the gesture.
“This right here ain’t gonna save me taxes,” he says. “It’s in the beginning of the year. I’m looking forward to seeing their smiles. I’m looking forward to the kids growing up knowing that Uncle 2 Chainz came through. Keep praying. You gotta have faith. You gotta believe.”
2 Chainz has been on something of a giving spree since making a reported $2 million from his Dabbin’ Santa Christmas sweaters this past holiday season. In addition to this latest charitable donation, the rapper has also bought a mini-van for another family in need and paid the rent of a disabled veteran that had fallen on hard times.
