Stacey Dash is no stranger to putting her foot in her mouth, but never has a controversial comment of hers caused so much controversy as her recent criticisms of BET, segregation and Black History Month. For more than a week now, Dash has been getting blasted by celebs, fans and even BET for her comments. However, there may be one celeb who is willing to come to Dash’s defense and that celeb is Waka Flocka.
As previously reported, Dash appeared on Fox News last week and discussed the backlash over the Oscars’ lack of nominations for Black actors and filmmakers.
“We have to make up our minds. Either we want to have segregation or integration. If we don’t want segregation, then we need to get rid of channels like BET and the BET Awards and the [NAACP] Image Awards, where you are only awarded if you are black. If it were the other way around we would be up in arms. It’s a double standard. Just like there shouldn’t be a Black History Month. You know, we’re Americans, period. That’s it,” Dash said.
According to media reports, Waka recently posted a video response to the controversy and claimed that Dash was both right and wrong about the matter.
“I could say Stacey Dash is wrong and she’s right for how she said it and she couldn’t break down fully what she was trying to explain. But honestly, I always felt like that. Like why the f— we got BET. BET is for Black people. MTV’s for White people? Think about it. Why the f— we have Black history month — only in February. How can the people that took our history give us our history, for one month? Just think about it. That’s the s— I be saying but it is what it is,” Waka explained
What do you think of Waka’s comments?
