Earlier this week, reports began flying about O.J. Simpson and his thoughts on Caitlyn Jenner decades before her transition into a woman. Now, Jenner’s ex-wife, Kris Jenner, is opening up about actually experiencing first hand Jenner’s transition and talking about how she handled the person she once knew as her husband becoming a woman.
According to media reports, Kris says that she struggled with Caitlyn’s transition at first and that she relied heavily on her faith in God to get her through the experience.
“I think at some point, although it was difficult and, uh, a challenge … I just have to let it go. And try to be tolerant,” Kris said. “Prayer. God. You know, just trying to understand. It takes time. But time is a wonderful healer. And we have two children together. It’s important for my kids to see our family strong and united.”
And Kris also addressed the rumors and assumptions that Jenner’s transition might have been a major blow to her self-esteem and her sense of self as a desirable woman: “Thank God, I never doubted myself. I just doubted the relationship. You know, what were those 20-plus years all about?”
Things weren’t always so great between Kris and Jenner, especially when their decades-long marriage came to an end.
Shortly after Jenner came out as transgender and began her transformation, Kris told the press that she was shocked by Jenner’s decision. She also claimed that Jenner had turned cold towards the family and was being malicious when talking about their marriage and how she felt it was ruined by Kris’ domineering and selfish attitude.
The two women ended up airing out their feud in some tear-jerking scenes on “Keeping Up With The Kardashians” and Jenner’s own reality series, “I Am Cait.”
Thankfully, Jenner and Kris are now on better terms, and the Kardashian and Jenner families as a whole are closer now after the tumultuous ordeal.
