On Sunday, Feb. 28, The 88th annual Academy Awards, honoring the “best” in cinema, were held at the Dolby Theatre in Hollywood, California. Helming the whitewashed event was none other than comedian Chris Rock, who despite calls to boycott the event by stars like Will Smith and Jada Pinkett Smith, used the opportunity to shine light on the lack of diversity among nominees. Even Stacey Dash made an awkward appearance.

Needless to say, it was a big night for Team Leonardo DiCaprio, who walked away with some major prizes, including the first Oscar for Actor in a Lead Role. And while Mad Max: Fury Road walked away with more honors than any film at the prestigious ceremony, leading all films with six, it fell short of nabbing Best Picture.
