Jhené Aiko Efuru Chilombo, known as Jhené Aiko, is officially off the market.
After plenty of rumors and speculation surrounding Aiko and her longtime lover, Dot da Genius, it appears the “3:16 am” recording artist is a married woman. While celebrating her 28th birthday on Wednesday, March 16, her main man posted a very special snap and message. “Happy Birthday to my gorgeous wife,” the music producer and DJ shared on Instagram. “Happy to be on this quest w/ you!!!” Wait, what?
In the image, Aiko can be seen standing on an altar while wearing a long white dress with a bouquet of flowers in her hand. Meanwhile, her rapper beau appears to be placing a massive sparkler on his wife’s left hand.
In 2014, rumors that the pair had upgraded their relationship status began, when Dot da Genius posted a celebratory tweet to his partner in crime. “Congratulations to my wife on her Grammy nomination!!” he wrote via social media. And while an accompanying Instagram post has since been deleted his tweet remains in the Twittersphere.
Music lovers may know the Los Angeles native from her singles including “The Worst,” “Bed Piece” and “3:16 am.” She also appeared on Big Sean’s highly successful song “Beware” and as well as Drake’s album titled Nothing Was the Same.
The songbird is also a proud mom to daughter Namiko, whom she welcomed in 2008. “She gave me the focus, the drive and the urgency to get something done,” she once told Complex. “I have always been about getting work done but with a child, something needs to happen and she just put more passion as far as what I wanted to do with my music, what I wanted to sing about and my message.”
Congrats to the couple. Show them some love in the comment section below.
