Mac Minister
In something resembling a classic gangster movie, rapper Mac Minister was convicted of murdering two Kansas City rappers in retaliation for the murder of Bay Area rap legend Mac Dre.
A few months after Mac Dre was gunned down in Kansas City, Mac Minister, born Andre Dow, reportedly lured Anthony “Fat-Tone” Watkins and Jermaine “Cowboy” Akins to Las Vegas by tricking them into thinking they were meeting with members of Snoop Dogg’s camp about a possible recording contract. The bodies of both Watkins and Atkins were later found riddled with AK-47 bullets at a construction site just outside of Las Vegas.
Unfortunately for Mac Minister, he was captured on security cameras at the MGM Hotel with the two men shortly before they were killed. Police sought him for questioning only for him to go on the run for 10 months before being profiled on America’s Most Wanted and finally being captured in San Francisco.
Both he, and accomplice Jason “Corleone” Mathis, were charged with two counts of first-degree murder and two counts of conspiracy to commit murder. The pair were both found guilty in a trial that lasted less than a week and sentenced to life in prison without the possibility of parole.
