On Sunday, April 3, 2016, 300 homeless men, women, and children’s lives were forever changed by a unique experience. Grammy Award-nominated recording artist Raheem Devaughn and his philanthropic initiative, The LoveLife Foundation, in partnership with Black Celebrity Giving and D.C. social activist Tony Lewis Jr. fed residents at the New York Avenue Emergency Men’s Shelter located in Washington, D.C., by way of a #SundaySoul Pop Up Dinner.

Attendees were welcomed with a delicious five-course meal catered by D.C.’s popular chefs Angel Anderson, JR Robinson, and Team Kitchen Cray Spyce, along with chef Jordan, and chef Shannon Tchuimeni, among others. Meanwhile, delectable desserts were provided by The DC Cake Man, Mr. Bake, and Cupcakes Cakes n Treats.

The guests of honor were also treated to complimentary haircuts by some of Washington’s best barbers: Brother Jamaal, Dexter Fields, Jazzy Jaycee and Luqman Sabour. In addition to a wonderful meal and transformational grooming, guests were gifted with a reusable shopping bag filled to the brim with complimentary full-size toiletries, courtesy of the Akoma Foundation.

The #SundaySoul Pop Up Dinner was made possible by the generous donations of Target, Wegman’s Food Markets, Magic 102.3 FM, and fan donations through GoFundMe.com. For more images from the event, check out the gallery below.
