Apparently, Cam Newton loves kids.

The Carolina Panthers quarterback — and new dad — recently teamed up with Nickelodeon to host a 20-episode docuseries, “All In With Cam Newton.” During the show, the 27-year-old pairs real kids with A-list mentors as they pursue their individual passions — everything from basketball to fashion to government — the sort of feel-good programming the entire family will enjoy.

In the docuseries, Newton, who helped carry his team to Super Bowl 50, after notching a near-perfect regular-season record, becomes a willing sidekick — playing the ukulele, water polo, and nailing a cheer routine, among other activities. In one scene, a budding gymnast needs help with her floor routine, so Newton enlists Olympic gold medalist Dominique Dawes to give her some pointers. In another snippet of the upcoming series, an aspiring designer is matched with “Project Runway’s” larger-than-life personality, Tim Gunn, to create a runway gown. Think Cam Newton meets MTV’s “Made.”

The 2015 NFL MVP spent more than two months during the off-season filming the show in Los Angeles. Last month, he did some additional filming in Charlotte, North Carolina. When Newton first signed with Nickelodeon, he told People that the show was a match made in heaven. “I am a big kid at heart,” he said. “I began to understand the potential of how to give back to kids through my work with my foundation.”

“When this opportunity with the show came around, I couldn’t say no,” he continued. “It’s everything that I stand for.”

The show will air weekly for 20 episodes, reports Entertainment Weekly. “All In With Cam Newton” premieres on Friday, June 3, at 8 p.m. EST on Nickelodeon.
