Chef Rob celebrated his 10th anniversary operating Caribbean Cafe with the support of family, friends and loyal customers. The event included a live band, Red Stripe beer, and rum punch. There was even a special blogger brunch.
While few restaurants last one year, and even fewer make it to 10, Rob seems to have unlocked the secrets to restaurant success. For one, he keeps family first. I was very surprised to learn that chef Rob’s son is a team leader. He started working at this family-owned business at the age of 12 as a dishwasher.
Another smart thing chef Rob did early on was to hire a publicist who believed in his brand. Four years ago, LillieMae PR had chef Rob on red carpets, at events socializing, sponsoring events and introducing him to a network of people that would spread the word and forever support his business.
One of the keys to a successful business is building a team. Congrats to chef Rob and Jamal King of Steps Events for putting together a fabulous anniversary party.
