Is Tyga heading to jail? On Tuesday morning, Aug. 9, the 26-year-old rapper failed to appear for a mandatory hearing concerning his ongoing eviction case. But, because Tyga was a no-show, the judge issued a bench warrant.
As previously reported, Tyga’s landlord filed court documents against him, claiming the artist had breached their agreement to fork over $16,000 per month for his home. According to the court docs, just three months after moving in, the “Rack Rity” recording artist stopped paying rent and was facing eviction. While Tyga abandoned the home “sometime prior” to Oct. 31, 2012, soon thereafter, the landlord discovered the defendant had inflicted major damage, including destroying the automatic gate opener and breaking bathroom tiles. The cost of the damages? Just about $480,285, but Tyga hasn’t paid up. Tuesday’s hearing was meant to address questions about Tyga’s financial standing, but because of a lien on his property and the no-show, “a lien was created … including any property gifted to a third-party, to be applied toward satisfaction of the $480,285.00 worth of debt.”
Oddly enough, this past weekend, the “Make It Nasty” musician purchased a Mercedes-Maybach for girlfriend Kylie Jenner, ahead of her 19th birthday (Aug. 10). The cost of the luxury car was reportedly $189,000. In other words, Jenner (and her new whip) could very get a visit from the repo man.
Of course, this isn’t the first time Tyga has found himself in legal hot water. In fact, he’s been evicted before and had his car repossessed. Not to mention, earlier this year reports claimed the father of one owed his “Keeping Up With the Kardashians” girlfriend $2 million as he had been using her cash to fund his lavish lifestyle. Meanwhile, the teen star publicly negated the rumors even after they had briefly broken up. “Lies lies lies,” she tweeted at the time. Tyga however, never publicly addressed the hearsay.
