So far 2016 has not been a good year for embattled comedian Katt Williams. He’s now being sued for $1 million over an assault and battery of a female assistant on a movie set two years ago. Angela Triplett-Hill filed a lawsuit this week in a Los Angeles federal court stating that Williams went into a “violent rage” in September 2014 in an attack that put her in the hospital. According to Triplett-Hill, the incident occurred when she walked away to take a personal phone call while speaking to Williams.

When she returned she claims that the comedian ordered her into a vehicle, lunged at her and snatched her phone. Triplett-Hill then stated that Williams began calling her a b—- and she responded “I’m not a b—-. Katt, you and I know you are bigger than that.” Her response allegedly made Williams even angrier and he allegedly struck her in the face. The blow caused her to  fall, hit her head on the concrete and lose consciousness. Witnesses on the scene called for help and she was transported to Santa Monica UCLA Hospital, where she was treated for four days. According to her flawsuit, the physical injuries she suffered and hostile work environment made it impossible for her to return to the job, and she’s suffered lost employment and emotional distress.

At the beginning of the year, Williams was subjected to a raid by the Hall County, Georgia, Sheriff’s Office over allegedly tying up and beating a former bodyguard. Then in March 2016, he was accused of assaulting a group of women during a verbal altercation in Atlanta. Then in June, he was arrested for fighting a middle school student during a pick-up gang of soccer. Shortly after he was released from jail, he was once again in the news for throwing a salt shaker at the manager of the popular Atlanta restaurant Spondivits. Most recently, fellow comedian Faizon Love took to the airwaves on Atlanta radio station V-103 and blamed Williams’ problems on his sexuality.
