Miley Cyrus vs. Nicki Minaj
Just three days before last year’s ceremony, Cyrus dissed the female rapper in an interview with the New York Times, claiming her reaction to “Anaconda” being overlooked in the Video of the Year category was petty. “If you do things with an open heart and you come at things with love, you would be heard and I would respect your statement. But I don’t respect your statement because of the anger that came with it,” Cyrus said.
So, when Onika took the stage to accept her moonman for Best Hip-Hop Video, she had a few choice words for “The Voice” coach. “Back to this b*tch that had a lot to say about me the other day in the press the other day,” she said. “Miley, what’s good?”
To our surprise, Cyrus who was hosting the show, played it off fairly well, quickly responding to Minaj saying, “We’re all in this industry. We all do interviews and we all know how they manipulate sh*t. Nicki, congratu-f*ckin-lations,” before directing viewers to the next act.
