Shaquille O’Neal is the latest athlete to voice his opinion on Colin Kaepernick. While on Fox News, O’Neal revealed that he didn’t agree with Kaepernick sitting during the national anthem.

“I don’t know Colin, but again, to each his own,” O’Neal said. “I don’t really have a say on it, but I would never do that. My father was a military man, and you know, he protected this country. Uncles are in law enforcement, you know, they go out and work hard everyday.”

O’Neal continued by questioning if Kaepernick’s protest was genuine. “My question is, ‘How come you didn’t do it last year?’ Or, ‘How come you didn’t do it when you entered the NFL?’” O’Neal said.

It’s apparent that O’Neal missed the point of Kaepernick’s protest. The San Francisco 49ers quarterback never spoke against military and was simply protesting the oppression that minorities face in this country today.

O’Neal has a right to an opinion as much as Kaepernick has the right to sit during the national anthem. But O’Neal is currently catching flack on social media for speaking out against Kaepernick:
