T.I., Public Enemy headline day 1 of Many Rivers to Cross Festival

Many Rivers to Cross Festival kicked off on Oct. 1 with musicians, artists, and public speakers. Public Enemy kicked things off by performing classic hits such as “Can’t Truss It” and “Fight the Power.” T.I.  followed shortly after and performed past hits and songs from his new album which addresses police brutality, Us or Else. The great Carlos Santana closed the show by performing legendary hits such as “Maria, Maria” and “Black Magic Woman.”

Notable speakers included Angela Davis and Van Jones who shared their ideas on the best ways to achieve social justice. The festival, curated by Harry Belafonte and his daughter Gina, concludes on Oct. 2 with performances by Common, John Legend, Chris Rock, and Jamie Foxx.
