Drake is more banged up that he thought.

After suffering an ankle injury, the Canadian rapper revealed he’s under “doctor’s orders” to fall back, so he’s pulling out of at least three upcoming concerts. “We are over 50 shows in and I have done everything to power through my recent ankle injury and leave it all out there on the stage every night,” he wrote.

“I hate to be told I can’t do something, but under doctor’s orders to allow me time to recuperate, I am being forced to postpone the intense three shows in a row in cities which have only ever shown me unconditional support,” Drake wrote in a statement on his October’s Very Own blog. Though the “Once Dance” artist revealed he had also been instructed to avoid the New Jersey area entirely, he promised to maintain at least one of the two dates, as he’s never performed in the state’s arena before.

“I am crushed to even be typing this announcement because I feel like I am letting my fans in these cities down. I only want to give you the best show you deserve, I promise — I will make it up to you,” he wrote.

The rapper ended his note by promising “new music and a stronger ankle.”

Finally, he concluded, “Thank you for your understanding and I can’t wait to see you all again with new music and a stronger ankle.” Considering Drizzy’s epic guest list to date, we’re sure he’ll pull out all the stops upon his return. Just last week, the 29-year-old took the stage with Big Sean, Dr. Dre and Ice Cube at the Los Angeles Forum. He’s called on stars like Eminem, Kanye West and Lil Wayne during previous shows. Of course, we can’t forget the countless times his off-and-on again bae Rihanna surprised fans by joining the rapper for a medley of their hit collaborations, including “Work” and “Too Good.”

Wishing Drake a swift recovery. Show him some love in the comment section below.
