The Atlanta Business League’s (ABL) 32nd Annual Super Tuesday Conference was held on Tuesday, Oct. 11 in Atlanta where we were introduced to their list of Atlanta’s Top 100 Black Women of Influence 2016. This year’s theme was “Cracking the Code.” The conference offered six “informative self-help and business enhancement workshops and interactive sessions presented by [subject-matter] experts.”

Organizers describe the 32nd Annual Super Tuesday Conference as “An innovative conference for those who want to take their business to the next level by learning to build their own success blueprint through proven strategies and techniques in business, branding, networking and technology. You’ll find real riches in our hot-topic seminars, with top business leaders and experts sharing valuable information and insights in areas such as multiple streams of income, becoming an influencer in your field, finding and keeping your voice, and candid expert advice on those issues that are keeping you up at night! You won’t want to miss this action-packed, information-filled day designed to give you the information, contacts and connections you need to crack the code.”

This writer attended two seminars. One was “The Power of Social Media” helmed by panelists who utilize social media to promote their various industries including media personality Ryan Cameron, CEO, Dealmakers Investment Group, LLC; nonprofit leader Dr. Joyce Dorsey, president and CEO, Fulton Atlanta Community Action Authority; co-working space owner Ryan Wilson, co-founder and CEO of The Gathering spots as well as one who studies social media trends, data king Dr. Denish Shah, Barbara and Elmer Sunday Professor of Marketing at Georgia State University. It’s where participants gained a broad sense of how selecting the right social media platform is imperative to align with your message.

The second was the “New Resume/Powerful Capability Statement” workshop where panelists discussed how and when this one-sheeter can be a game-changer for small business owners and consultants in term of getting new business. This panel session was helmed by Sanquinetta Dover, president and CEO of Dover Staffing and Solutions; Stacey Key, president and CEO of Georgia Minority Supplier Development Council; Nakia Melecio, founder and CEO, MKM Consulting Group and Sheri Riley, empowerment speaker, life strategist and author.
