Drake sent the internet into a frenzy on the evening of October 23 by releasing new music and revealing a new album. The Toronto native will release More Life in December, which unfolds like a “playlist” of songs from Drake and members of OVO.

But Drake decided to get back into rap battle mode by aiming at Kid Cudi and Pusha T. With Kid Cudi, Drake was apparently responding to Cudi’s Twitter rant when he dissed him and Kanye West by saying, “These n— don’t give a f— about me. And they ain’t f— with me. [They] keep you close when they see how powerful you are by yourself.”

On Drake’s “Two Birds, One Stone,” he fired back at Kid Cudi by rapping, “You were the man on the moon
Now you just go through your phases. Life of the angry and famous.” Drake also raps about Kid Cudi’s drug abuse: “Still never been on hiatus, you stay xanned [Xanax] and perked [Percocet] up so when reality set in you don’t gotta face it.”

Earlier in the song, Drake went after Pusha T by rapping, “But really it’s you with all the drug dealer stories, that’s gotta stop though. You made a couple chops and now you think you Chapo, if you ask me though you ain’t lining the trunk with kilos. You bagging weed watching Pacino with all your n—.”

Drake may have earned a few point by his clever diss of Pusha T, but some believe that he went too far by dissing Kid Cudi. Shortly after Kid Cudi’s rant, he checked himself into rehab to confront his drug addiction and mental illness.

Drake eventually caught backlash on social media for what some viewed as a low shot to a man who is dealing with real issues:
