Beyoncé continues to break barriers in music. It was recently leaked that she will serve as one of the headlining performers at the Country Music Awards.

Beyoncé’s “Daddy Lessons” became a popular song on country radio stations over the past summer. The song, which features New Orleans-based trumpets and country and blues melody, was often compared to previous work by country star Miranda Lambert. The Dixie Chicks even covered the song during a performance in London.

The announcement of Beyoncé’s performance will likely cause her large fanbase to tune into the awards. However, some country music enthusiasts are upset that Beyoncé is performing alongside country music greats at the CMAs. Some are even calling for a boycott.

One country music fan, @Nascargege, wrote on Twitter, “Why in the world are they going to have Beyoncé on this show? I am boycotting the show for I do not support the cop-hating hoochy mama.”

Here is how other country music fans have responded to Beyoncé’s performance at the CMA Awards.
