Christian Clark, 21, was driven to murder her child because of jealousy. According to the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette, Clark was the mother of two kids by her boyfriend, Andre Price, Jr.
Clark and Price began arguing on November 1 after she accused him of having sex with another woman. At some point, Clark began threatening their kids and told Price that she would harm them. She sent a text to Price telling him that their kids were not safe in her home and that she would go to jail for child endangerment. Clark also sent a text telling Price, “I’m killing them, I hope [cheating] was worth it.”
Two hours after the initial text, Clark sent Price a disturbing video and pics of their kids laying face down on a mattress. She told Price that their son, Andre Price III, was “legit dead.” Price told Clark to call 911.
When police arrived, Clark told them she found her son unresponsive while laying on the mattress. But when police checked her phone, they discovered the text messages where she threatened to abuse the kids. She eventually told authorities that she pushed her son’s head into a pillow for one minute. The child likely died due to suffocation.
Clark’s willingness to kill her son shed light on a deeper issue that goes beyond jealousy. It’s probable that Clark suffered from some form of mental illness that went undiagnosed. It’s important for communities to take the stigma away from mental health care so that treatment can be given before a catastrophe occurs.
Clark has been charged with criminal homicide in the death of Andre Price III and is currently at the Allegheny County Jail. Clark and Price’s daughter, Angel, will recover from the abuse.
