Over the years, T.I. has become one of the most outspoken figures in hip-hop when it comes to the political world and held nothing back when he recently spoke about the controversial win for President-elect Donald Trump and how his campaign has brought forth a new wave of racial violence and intimidation for Black and Brown people.
According to reports, T.I., who has been in New York protesting Trump’s election, recently spoke about Trump in a new interview and explained that Trump’s hate-filled rhetoric against Black and Brown people for the duration of his campaign, as well as his divisive win, have caused racist white people to feel entitled to commit acts of violence prejudice against minorities, who they feel don’t belong in this country.
“I want to be able to look my kids in the eyes and tell them I did everything the Constitution allows me to do,” Harris said. “[The worst part about Trump’s presidency] is the insurgence of all the dark-cornered, racist White supremacists and oppressors that exist that they now feel they have a spokesperson and that could be dangerous.”
And Tip’s words are supported by the numerous reports of minorities, which sadly and shamefully includes children, being harassed by White citizens and classmates.
However, despite the appalling number of hate crimes happening across the nation, Tip says he remains hopeful in knowing that “God is in control of all. Everyone has casualties on both sides. It is what it is.”
This isn’t the first time that Tip has recently spoken out about race and politics in this country. Last week, he blasted his former friend, Lil Wayne, online for dismissing the Black Lives Matter movement.
“I KNOW you wired a bit different than most other responsible adults, but still n—a U TRIPPING!!!! I don’t know what you goin thru, or what you are attempting to avoid but this s–t is absolutely unacceptable!!!! You’re disrespecting yourself, bringing shame on your family name & tarnishing your legacy. You have children (including mines prior to now) that have looked up to you. You have sons & a daughter that depend upon your leadership. Bro if you don’t stand for something out here, all the money, jewelry, cars, mansions bandannas & hit records don’t mean s–t!!!!” Tip wrote in an Instagram post to Wayne.
