The new year needs to hurry up and roll in because pop culture can’t afford to take another “L” in 2016.
American girl group Fifth Harmony has sadly announced in a brief statement that member Camila Cabello has quit after a four-year stint, but the group will continue on as a foursome and additionally are releasing solo projects.
“We have been informed via her representatives that Camila has decided to leave Fifth Harmony. We wish her well.”
Although the remaining members’ announcement makes the situation sound peaceful, sources speculate things got heated behind the scenes between the group.
What makes the departure shadier is that Cabello didn’t even inform the group herself that she was leaving. The ladies were informed by Cabello’s representative. Rumor has it that she allegedly felt the group was too large and has plans to pursue a solo career.
This breakup is starting to sound a bit reminiscent of “Making the Band’s” Danity Kane split back in 2009 due to irreconcilable differences. Fifth Harmony has come a long way since being discovered by Simon Cowell and L.A. Reid on “The X Factor” in 2012.
Hopefully, the five will sort out their issues and not fall off fans’ radar like many of the girl groups who broke up before them.
