Whether you have hopes of becoming a best-selling author, overbooked speaker or life changing coach, you have to find a way to monetize your message. It’s nearly impossible to use your gifts, talents and experiences to fund your life if you’re not making any money.

Before you can monetize your message, you have to be sure you’re starting on a solid foundation. Consider these 4 ways to monetize your message:

Pinpoint your ideal client

Who is your perfect client? Ideally, who is it that you actually want to spend time serving? Who does your message connect to? What do you really know about this person? Some questions to consider in putting a face on your perfect client are: What does she need? What does she want? What is she interested in? What is she reading? Who is she following? What magazines and blogs is she reading?

The more you know about your ideal client, the more you can market your message directly to her.

Build an authentic audience

Build an authentic following by having something of value to offer. You gotta give the people a reason to tune in. Do you engage your audience by being entertaining? Do you educate them? Empower them? If you create a message worth sharing, monetizing it is simple.

Master your message

You can’t wait until someone books you for something to start practicing. Each and every time you leave your house, you have an opportunity to meet the next check or contract. As an entrepreneur, you’re always on. Literally.

So spend time getting really good at presenting your message so that you can make the most of it. Not really sure what your purpose is? This will help for sure.

Create a profit plan

The coins are not just going to come to you, you have to create a strategy to secure the bag. What products, services and side hustles can you create that align with your message?

Products to consider: ebooks, guides, published books, workbooks, journals/notebooks and other merchandise that aligns with your message — the key is for your products to be a physical representation of your message, don’t just create something that you think will sell.

Services to consider: coaching, consulting, teaching and tutoring. You have a wealth of knowledge that you’re probably not even tapping into. If you take the time to assess yourself, you can use what you already know to create a new stream of income.

Whether you realize it or not, there’s something that you’re meant to do. Something that you were born to do. Something that you’re being called to do … right now.

There’s no time to waste, only time to win.
