Russell Wilson is ready to begin the next chapter of his life, fatherhood.
Per People, the Seattle Seahawks quarterback, 28, admits it’s “super exciting” that he and his wife, singer Ciara, are expecting their first child together any day now. “We have another little one on the way so it’s going to be a blessing for sure,” he said. “To be able to embrace what’s coming soon is going to be great.”
“It’s a crazy world that we live in and we’re just trying to love as much as possible,” Wilson revealed of how he and Ci Ci have been preparing for baby’s arrival. “I know Ciara and I are super focused on that. Loving one another, loving our kids and just loving the world.”
He’s also made a point to pamper his wife in the final stretch of her pregnancy. “I’m always pampering!” continued Wilson. “It’s a special time in our life.”

Though the pair has betight-lippedped about the baby’s name and sex, they recently celebrated their little one’s impending arrival with an adorable all-white, co-ed baby shower, complete with floral crowns, Shake Shack eats, and a DJ. Guests included Ci Ci’s gal pals Lala Anthony and Serena Williams, as well as close friends and family.
“I think that it’s a symbol of love and a symbol of new life,” Wilson added of the inspiration behind the shower’s all-white color theme, adding, “It was a blast.”

While the football star is on the edge of his seat with excitement to be a new dad, he’s certainly had plenty of experience on daddy duty. As you may recall, Wilson has stepped in as stepfather to Future Zahir — Ciara’s 2½-year-old son from her previous relationship with rapper Future. “I am a stepdad, so I’ve always had that thrill having little man there,” he explained.
Meanwhile, Future Jr. is just as excited to be a big brother. “He’s always kissing the baby and saying hi to the baby in the mornings,” said Wilson.

Previously reported, the couple wed in July 2016. In October, on the “Dance Like We’re Making Love,” singer’s 31st birthday, the duo announced they’ve got a baby on board. “On this special Birthday I received an abundance of love from friends and family.. and I’m excited to Finally share one of the Greatest Gifts of All that God could give,” wrote Ciara, alongside a beautiful photo of herself and Wilson cradling her baby bump.
In an interview with Harper’s Bazaar just last month, the expectant mother said of growing her family, “I’m just super excited about this time in my life.” Adding that, “I can see my son running around, and soon it’s going to be two of these creatures running around! Our hands will be full of non-stop action.”
