What is your husband’s name?

Romell Williams, Jr.

What church do you preside at as the first lady?

Lilydale Progressive Missionary Baptist Church

How many years have you had that title?

12 years

Do you preach along with your husband?

No

Does it seem like you are a pastor along with him?

No

What does it mean to be a first lady to you?

To support and help my husband in any way he needs me to—whether inside the church or outside.

What is the most challenging part of being a first lady?

Sharing my husband’s time with everyone.

What is the best part of being a first lady?

Seeing firsthand how God works miraculously in the lives of my husband and the members of our congregation.

Did you ever think you would become who you are today?

Yes.

How do you balance church and home life?

I try to have my priorities in order. First comes my love relationship with Jesus, then comfort and sanity of my family, then church. The Holy Spirit gives me the wisdom and strength to give my best to each area.

What is your advice to future first ladies or those who already are in the capacity of a first lady?

Fall in love with Jesus and have an intimate relationship with Him above anyone or anything else. He will give you everything you desire that you won’t get from your husband or the people of the congregation. Worth, companionship, knowledge, power, comfort, wisdom, health, and joy come from Jesus Christ … period.
