What is your husband’s name?

Pastor Michael L. Neal

What church do you preside at as the first lady?

Glorious Light Church in the Bronzeville community.

How many years have you held that title?

It will be nine years July 2017

Do you also preach?

No, there is only one pastor in the family. I am the director of our Titus 2 Women’s Ministry.

Does it seem like you are a pastor along with him?

I wouldn’t say that but I do work alongside him in ministry.

What does your role as the first lady mean to you?

Wow! That’s always an interesting question. This is a question that if you asked five different first ladies, you would probably get five different answers. But for me, I feel it’s the position God has placed me to serve the Kingdom in two capacities; first to my husband as work alongside him in ministry and support the vision that God has given him.
Second, to serve the church body overall, my passion is our women’s ministry, I personally enjoy encouraging women to seek a true relationship with God and allow him to make the difference in their lives.

What is the most challenging part of being a first lady?

Creating a balance between my personal life, professional life and ministry.

What is the best part of being a first lady?

Working in ministry.

Did you ever think you would become who you are today?

No, I had no idea that I would serve the Kingdom in this capacity. But I’m grateful I was chosen.

How do you balance church and home life?

I can’t say I have an exact formula; I truly try to do my best to honor my commitments to both. It’s made me aware of when to ask for help, and when to set boundaries, so I can continue to be the best person God has called me to be.

What is your advice to future first ladies or those who already are serving in the capacity of a first lady?

Build a personal relationship with God.
