Drink these cocktails on Memorial Day instead of beer


Memorial Day weekend is here. To complete your annual barbecue, pool party, or simple family gathering, we’ve compiled a list of cocktails sure to stand out at your get together – even after a long day on your feet shopping. Laphroaig® Back Yard Collins (pictured above)
Recipe by Ivy Mix, NYC

1 1/2 ounces Laphroaig® Select
3/4 ounce Cherry Heering® Liqueur
3/4 ounce lemon juice
1/2 ounce orange juice
1/2 ounce vanilla syrup* (sub-recipe below)
1 Dash Angostura® Bitters
Light lager beer
Lemon wheel (for garnish)

Combine all ingredients except lager in a cocktail shaker.
Shake and strain into a Collins glass filled with fresh ice.
Top with a light lager beer and garnish with a lemon wheel and enjoy.

INGREDIENTS (vanilla syrup)
1 cup water
1 cup sugar
1 vanilla bean (split open)

Combine vanilla syrup ingredients in a saucepan and bring to a boil.
Let cool and strain.

Berry Explosive Raspado

4 ounces Milagro Silver
1 ounce fresh lime juice
2 ounces Agave Nectar
8 Raspberries
12 Blueberries
4 Fresh Mint Leaves
6 dashes Peach Bitters

Blend all ingredients in a blender until smooth.
Fill two glasses with crushed or shaved ice and pour over.
Top with raspberries and blueberries.


Laphroaig® Smoked Independence

1 1/2 ounces Laphroaig® 10-Year-Old
1/2 ounce pineapple rum
3/4 ounce lime juice
3/4 ounce simple syrup
Barspoon pomegranate molasses

Combine all ingredients into a cocktail shaker.
Shake and strain into a rocks glass over fresh ice.
Garnish with a lime wheel and enjoy.
