Atlanta Fashion Showcase presented by CCG Consulting celebrated the loved art form of fashion while benefiting domestic minor sex-trafficking prevention organization, Street Grace, on Saturday, Aug. 12, 2017, at Kai Lin Art Gallery. The debut showcase for the organization featured musical performances as well as fashion by Storm Dorris, Avnah Collection and Larisa Dragna.
Francine White, senior fashion brand consultant for CCG Consulting LLC, shared with the standing-room only crowd, “CCG is a a fashion brand consulting agency. We’ve worked mainly with international designers helping them build relationships and industry contacts within the States. We’re branching out to work with local designers to help them gain access to the industry internationally. A social cause that we have embraced is ending sex trafficking. For every activity that CCG Consulting produces as an agency, we partner with Street Grace.”
The most recent study of metro Atlanta found that the underground sex economy in Atlanta is worth $290 million per year with exploiters making up to $33,000 per week. Street Grace is one of the pioneers in the human trafficking space — a $290 million illegal industry in Georgia, alone. Since its inception in 2009, Street Grace has worked to bring together nonprofits, businesses, churches and individuals with one purpose — ending domestic minor sex trafficking (DMST).
The event was co-produced by Planet Fashion TV. The next one will be held Jan. 27, 2018, at Piedmont Park and will feature new designers and new collections.
It’s White’s dream for Atlanta to be a leading international fashion destination.
