“Saturday Night Live” has always pushed the envelope when it comes lampooning politics and pop culture. But in the era of Donald Trump, “SNL” has taken the ridicule to new heights.
Trump’s horrific response to the Puerto Rico tragedy inspired several comedians on “SNL” to blast the president. Michael Che didn’t hold back during his segment on the season premiere.
“Oh, really, Donald, you b—? Was she nasty to you? This isn’t that complicated, man. It’s hurricane relief. These people need help. You just did this for white people, twice. Do the same thing,” Che lashed out at Trump.
“So, tell Melania to put on her flood heels, get some bottled water, some food, pack up some extra Atlanta Falcons Super Bowl T-shirts and write them a check with our money, you cheap cracker,” Che continued.
Trump has made it a point to be cantankerous and divisive during his time in office. He has spewed hate at athletes, the mayor of Puerto Rico, and is on the verge of starting a war. He only seems to defend White supremacists and Vladimir Putin. Trump has yet to pass any significant legislation and has made a mockery out of the nation’s government and White House.
Here is how others reacted to Che on “SNL.”
