From the looks of things, Cardi B has a lot to be smiling about these days. She’s the first female rapper in over a decade to have the No. 1 song in the country thanks to “Bodak Yellow,” her major label debut is one of the most anticipated albums by any artist, and she just got engaged to her Migos fiancé, Offset. However, all that glitters is clearly not golden because Cardi B recently went on social media and hinted that she’s ready to give up her celebrity life in front of the cameras.
The social media rant happened this weekend when Cardi posted a video of herself riding in the backseat of a car as she vented about the stress and drama she deals with because of the fame she’s amassed over the past few years.
“Everyday, it’s so sickening like. It’s so f–king annoying. I don’t even want to be f–king famous anymore. I feel like I don’t. I really don’t. I really don’t even care; I just want to make money,” Cardi said in the video.
The Bronx, New York, rapper then explained that a big part of the problem is dealing with so many people who either want to criticize her or who want to tear down her career.
“Soon as I buy my f–king house [throws up the peace sign]. I’m just tired of everybody’s bulls–t. I don’t bother anybody. I mind my f–king business. B—hes is popping s–t all the f–king time,” Cardi said.
It’s still unclear what stirred up this reaction in Cardi. Earlier this week, the rapper seemed to be in better spirits when she told fans that she wants to set a better example for her young female fans.
“I realized, after Halloween, a lot of little girls, they be [sic] looking up to me. They love me and I’m thinking to myself, like, ‘Yo, I really need to be a better example,'” Cardi said in an Instagram video.
She continued, “But I be [sic] trying to be a better example, though, you know what I’m saying? I’ve been trying to be more PG-13, less rated R.”
Hopefully, Cardi has gotten out of her funk now, especially since rumors are swirling that she and Offset may get a wedding TV special. What do you think about Cardi’s rant? Let us know in the comments.
