Wendy Williams has perfected the art of throwing shade. For over two decades, Williams made it a point to expose the secrets of celebrities with gossip that proved to be invasive and entertaining.
There is a long list of celebrities who caught Williams’ wrath. For instance, Aretha Franklin’s estate recently denounced Williams after she criticized the documentary, Amazing Grace. “When you don’t have real professional people doing real professional things for you, sometimes you lose out,” Williams said about the film on during an episode of her show. “Nobody’s going to the movies to see a one-shot deal, like black-and-white.”
Other notable celebrities who have faced a backlash by Williams includes Will Smith, 50 Cent, Paris Jackson, and Ariane Grande to name a few.
But one of Williams’ lowest remarks occurred in 2006 when she announced that Method Man’s wife was stricken with cancer while live on-air. Method Man later revealed to All Hip-Hop that he cried after Williams made the announcement without his permission. Williams also claimed that Method Man was having an affair with his wife’s doctor.
Now Williams must endure the same real-life issues that she used as entertainment gossip when other celebs were involved.
Williams recently admitted on the “Wendy Williams Show” that she continues to struggle with drug addiction and currently resides in a sober house at night.
“Only Kevin knows about this,” Williams told her audience. “Not my parents. Nobody. Nobody knew because I look so glamorous out here,” she said. “After I finish my appointments, I am driven by my 24-hour sober coach back to a home that I live in the tri-state with a bunch of smelly boys who have become my family. We talk and read and talk, and then I get bored with them. Doors locked by 10 p.m., lights out by 10 p.m., so I go to my room and stare at the ceiling and fall asleep to come here and see you. So that is my truth.”
There were also reports that infidelity could be the reason for Williams’ recent drug relapse. One day after she made the big announcement, two images emerged of Williams’ husband, Kevin Hunter, on vacation with his alleged mistress, Sharina Hudson.
Williams did not discuss the photos on the latest episode of the “Wendy Williams Show.” Instead she used the time to do what she does best, talk about others.
Although Williams developed a reputation for sharing celebrity gossip, she continues to get support from her peers and social media users.
