Summer is around the corner, and as the weather heats up, so does fans’ anticipation of the popular HBO series “Insecure” starring actress and writer Issa Rae.

“Insecure” has captured the hearts of women everywhere with its relatable storylines, which follows the journey of two best friends, played by Rae and actress Yvonne Orji, as they enter their 30s and navigate the ups and downs of romance, all while and maintaining careers.

Unfortunately for fans, the wait has been extended.

According to Vulture, HBO’s programming chief, Casey Bloys, confirmed that “Insecure” won’t be returning with another season until 2020, in part, because of Rae’s busy schedule with the release of her latest film Little, featuring Regina Hall and Marsai Martin.

“Well, Issa became a big movie star!” Bloys said. “We’re not the first place to deal with this, but when you’re in business with very creative and talented people, there’s a lot more opportunities for people to do things. Issa, I think, partly wanted a break to come back to it fresh.”

Disappointed fans responded to the news on social media with a collection of memes and tweets.

While fans continue you to wait for 2020 to come, they can pray that the new season will provide longer episodes, amplified comedic banter and more teachable moments.
