The first Monday in May marks fashion’s biggest night and fundraising event — The Met Gala.

Every year, a fashion theme is announced, and celebrities and designers spend several months and countless hours creating their signature looks.

This year’s theme, “Camp: Notes on Fashion,” was diversely interpreted by celebrities and designers as they walked the pink carpet leading to The Metropolitan Museum of Art in Manhattan. The camp theme brought out an array of wild, gaudy, eccentric, vibrant and over-the-top styles.

Here are some of the fashion moments from your favorite celebrities:

Cardi B –  Cardi hit the pink carpet with a jaw-dropping burgundy gown with a train resembling a peacock’s tail.

Naomi Campbell – The supermodel looked absolutely amazing in a pink ensemble featuring lace and feathers.

Lupita Nyong’o – The Us actress went all out with her interpretation of the camp theme. She wore a very vibrant and colorful dress with glittery eye makeup and gold Afro picks throughout her hair.

Jennifer Lopez and Alex Rodriguez – The beautiful couple hit the pink carpet with glitz and glamour, but not before sharing a photograph captioned, “Here we come.”

Ciara – Cici came to slay. The singer rocked two outfits on the carpet — a black halter jumpsuit and this sparkly sequined emerald green gown — and flaunted big voluminous hair.

Michael B. Jordan – The Black Panther actor hit the pink carpet dateless in a black sequined tuxedo.

Lena Waithe – The dynamic screenwriter always uses the Met Gala as an opportunity to make a statement. This year she hit the carpet with fashion designer Kerby Jean-Raymond, founder of the menswear label Pyer Moss. Scrawled across the back of her suit were the words, “Black Drag Queens Invented Camp.”

Janet Mock – The writer and director took to the carpet in a beautiful silver metallic gown accentuated with grey feathers.

Kylie Jenner – The makeup mogul hit the pink carpet with longtime boyfriend Travis Scott and sister Kendall Jenner. She wore a lavender sheer Versace gown with larger-than-life lavender feather sleeves that matched her hair color.

Serena Williams – The tennis superstar sported a yellow dress featuring pink flowers and lime green Nike Air Force 1s.

Alicia Keys – The Grammy Award-winning singer resembled a fairy godmother in her beautiful sparkly mint green hooded dress.

Lewis Hamilton – The race car driver hit the carpet in a grey and black custom Tommy Hilfiger suit he helped design.
