A fight over cooking equipment led to a murder in Boston. On the night of May 21, Shakeem McNeil, 28, approached his neighbor, Carl Brown, 43, in their Dorchester, Massachusetts community, according to WHDH.

Brown discovered McNeil’s girlfriend, Kyanna Davis, using his barbecue grill and told her to stop. Davis became upset at Brown’s request and reportedly punched him in the face. McNeil decided to interject himself into the disagreement which caused things to escalate.

After pulling out his weapon, McNeil reportedly shot Brown four times. He died from his gunshot wounds.

Following the shooting, McNeil and Davis fled the scene. They were later apprehended at a Super 8 Hotel where police arrested McNeil. He was eventually charged with murder.

Police took Davis’ car as evidence, but she was not arrested or charged with a crime.
