The Armada has no peers, unless luxury cruiseliners count as competition. This stylish 3- row, 8-seat SUV floats along rough city terrain without losing its composure — or spilling your coffee. I enjoyed the more than comfortable heated 10-way power driver seat and there were no complaints from my passengers who sunk into their plush 8-way power seats. Dual zone automatic front A/C and rear controls along with 4 USB ports (2 are charge only, and 2 have iPod connectivity) keep everybody in the family happy.
The technology in the Armada is everything you’d expect in a luxury vehicle along with some new refinements. With standard tech including; Intelligent Cruise Control, Automatic Emergency Braking, Intelligent Forward Collision Warning, Rear Door Alert, and options like Intelligent Distance Control, you’ll feel like you’re running the show from the deck of the Starship Enterprise. The standard Bose audio system with 13 speakers, subwoofer and digital amplifer lets you pump up the volume and enjoy yourself as you cruise the galaxy.
Powered by a standard 390-horsepower 5.6 liter DOHC Endurance V8 engine with Direct Injection Gas, it’s all good when you’re ready for warp speed. If you find yourself needing to bring along a trailer or another vehicle, the 8,500-pound standard towing capacity is more than ready to handle it. The 2019 Armada has earned five stars from the NHTSA for side crash safety but is not yet rated for frontal crash.
The Armada will keep you in style as you cruise the city, but is anxiously waiting for you when you’re ready for that great summer trip.
