You’re an actress, comedian and writer. How do you identify yourself?
I identify myself as a comic. It started with being a stand-up comedian. Everything else has been a result from my central goal of wanting to be a very funny and one of the best stand-up comedians. From there, I ended up in front of the camera and got hired as a writer, my first job was with the Chris Rock Show. On that show, I learned how to produce, edit, do everything. Yeah. So, I just took those skills and continued on with my next projects.
If you had to start your career over, would you change anything?
I really have enjoyed the path that I’ve taken and I think I was ready for everything that’s happened, even the things that happened and didn’t go the way I expected. I learned something from them and was able to fix them and take those lessons with me to the next job. So, I think everything is kind of falling into place. I like this trajectory that I’m on.
