Lexi Underwood says Kerry Washington inspired her ‘Little Fires Everywhere’ role

“Ms. Kerry is a very method actor, but she does it in a very loving way. In the first argument scene in episode 1, half of that was ad-libbed. She stayed in that moment and was staying true to her cancer in between takes. It pulled something out of me to the point where the built-up emotion would come out so easily.”

Now that filming for season one of “Little Fires Everywhere” is complete, Underwood is using her downtime during the quarantine to work on her production company and other things.

“I’m just staying home and writing a lot and just working on my next project because I’m also a firm believer that if it’s not happening for you, make it happen for yourself.”

“Little Fires Everywhere” airs weekly on Hulu.
