Eminem is apparently feeling some kind of way after hip-hop icon Snoop Dogg did not include the Detroit rapper in his top 10 list of all-time rappers back in July 2020.

Slim Shady, well, throws shade at the luminous Doggfather in a new song “Zeus,” and Snoop fires back with some subtle shots at the 48-year-old rapper born Marshall Mathers.

After the firestorm was created by Snoop’s list of all-time top rappers, Snoop, 49, visited “The Breakfast Club” morning radio show to justify snubbing Eminem. And he pulled no punches:

“Eminem, The Great White Hope. White rappers had zero respect in rap. Dr. Dre has probably put Eminem in the position that he would be considered one of the top 10 rappers ever. I don’t think so, but the game thinks that he’s [in the] top 10 lyricists and everything that comes with it. That’s just because he’s with Dr. Dre,” Snoop said.

“There’s some n—-s in the 80s that he couldn’t f— with,” Snoop continued. “Like Rakim, like Big Daddy Kane, like KRS-One, like LL Cool J, like Ice Cube.”

Folks believe this is the source of Eminem’s ire when he came out with the surprise deluxe album Music to Be Murdered By – Side B in which he slams Snoop on the song “Zeus.”

“And, as far as squashin’ beef, I’m used to people knockin’ me
But, just not in my camp
I’m diplomatic, ’cause I’m tryna be—
Last thing I need is Snoop—doggin’ me
Man, dog, you was like a (Yeah) damn god to me
Man, not really (Haha)
I had dog backwards.”

Snoop surprisingly returned Em’s fire with some uncharacteristically subtle and cryptic jabs while speaking to his 55 million Instagram followers.
