Who was your DJ inspiration growing up?
I would say the blueprint, for me, was Jam Master Jay. I have family that deejayed as well. My dad was into music, all kinds of music, from a baby. So that’s how I got my knowledge of music and self. I had cousins that were DJs. The earlier DJs that would come out and bring turntables outside back then. I don’t know if you guys remember that. But those earlier days, I was just a kid on a big wheel watching the DJs do their thing, but never really knowing that that was something that I wanted to do until I got that bug.
What are some projects that you’re working on right now?
My main goal right now is to get my book out. … Other than that, I’m an executive producer on a short film. I’m touching things that I haven’t been before, and I’m excited about it. I’m getting my feet wet in the film world. Also, I love comedy, so I co-produce comedy shows in Texas.
