Lamar Odom is in a good place and taking a walk down memory lane as he reflected on his past relationship with ex-fiance Sabrina Parr in an Instagram post on Wednesday, Dec. 8.
The former NBA player took to the social media application to share that after a tumultuous relationship with Parr, he is now drug-free and living in his truth.
“A year ago yesterday I left my ex-fiance at the W Hotel in Atlanta without notice. When she realized I was gone back to my home in San Diego she was livid. I received over 250 calls and text messages over the course of last December from her wanting to fix us. We were toxic. Independently and collectively,” Odom explained.
He went on to say that although leaving Parr broke his heart, he knew it was for the best because it “saved his soul.”
Odom described the first few months after the breakup as challenging because he wasn’t used to being alone and found solace in “random women” and marijuana.
After realizing that he no longer wanted to live that life, he decided to make the necessary changes to start on a new, healthier path.
“Today, I am free. Drug-free. Marijuana free. Relationship free. I am rebuilding a relationship with myself. With my family. I am focused on my faith. My growth. My brand. I am a legend. I own that. I am a recovering addict. I own that too,” Odom added.
“Stand in your truth. Do not believe everything you read. Luckily my team keeps record of EVERYTHING so I am reminded of how far I have come,” he continued, which seemed to be in response to Parr promoting her new book in an earlier Instagram post.
Odom and Parr got engaged in November 2019 after dating for several months.
