Rapper Rod Wave recently released a new song called “Nirvana,” and many fans are worried about the artist on social media after taking a listen to the lyrics.
In the lyrics, Rod Wave says: “If you’re hearing this it’s too late. I’ve been writing this since Tuesday, today Friday that mean tomorrow’s doomsday. Tried to fight the pain but it are me alive. Sad to say I lost a battle against my mind.”
Many thought that this was a suicidal message, and fans flooded social media to send prayers to the rapper.
Rod Wave must have noticed the concern from the fans, because he posted a story on Instagram saying he was working on his new album, and that “Nirvana” was a suicide prevention song. He later went on Instagram Live to clear up any other rumors surrounding the song.
“That’s not how suicide letters work,” he wrote on Instagram. “You don’t go to a studio and record suicide letters, bro.”
It was quite the social media appearance for Rod Wave, as he doesn’t post much on Twitter or Instagram.
Earlier this year, Rod Wave earned his first No. 1 album on the Billboard 200 Chart with his SoulFly album.
