Rapper Waka Flocka turned 36 years old on May 31, and he also became a professor.

The New York-born Southern rap icon, whose real name is Juaquin James Malphurs, was bestowed his second honorary degree, this one from the Bible Institute of America.

The crunk rap legend was celebrated with an honorary professor degree alongside legendary civil rights leader Rev. Jesse Jackson at the Rainbow Push Headquarters in Chicago, according to TMZ.

The instructor, Apostle Bridget C. Outlaw, gave Waka props for the things the “Round of Applause” rapper has chosen to dedicate his life to in recent years, particularly mental health awareness, suicide prevention and support for PETA causes.

Waka’s life was changed forever in 2013 when his younger brother, rapper Kayo Redd, took his own life. Flocka has been outspoken about a person’s need to devote themselves to their own mental well-being ever since.

The “No Hands” hip hop head is enjoying his title of “Dr. Flocka,” though it’s not the first time that he was adorned with that titular title. In October 2020, Waka received an honorary doctorate degree in philanthropy and humanitarianism from the institution in New York.
