The brother of Doja Cat has been found and formally served with a restraining order to stay away from their mother after she accused him of acts of abuse against the singer-rapper and her.
Radar Online reports that after two previous unsuccessful attempts, Raman Dalithando Dlamini was tracked down to a Studio City, California, apartment where he was finally served the legal court documents of restraint.
Earlier this month, the siblings’ mother, Deborah Sawyer, filed for a restraining order against her son after she claimed he assaulted both her and the “Agora Hills” performer. Court records reveal Sawyer stated that the Grammy Award-winning artist needed protection from her brother after his alleged physical harm to her.
Sawyer’s filing also claims several disturbing incidents, including that Raman has repeatedly been violent toward Doja Cat. The filing states that Dlamini even threatened to kill her, “verbally assaulted” Doja Cat “in a very degrading and demeaning manner” that left her feeling “unsafe and traumatized,” and has stolen from the rapper on multiple occasions and damaged her property.
According to Sawyer, she has had to continuously file temporary restraining orders against her son since 2017.
For Dlamini’s part, he claims there is no story and that it’s all made up. Earlier this month in an interview with The Shade Room, Dlamini said he has not been violent toward his mother and added that he “ain’t seen anybody in years.”
Family drama aside, Doja Cat is soldiering on and was recently named a headliner at Coachella 2024. The music festival is set to take place over the middle two weekends of April, with Doja Cat closing out the show on April 14 and April 21.
