Saturday, Feb. 10, the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame announced its 2024 nominees. The famed repository for entertainment legends revealed the 15 artists who hope to become recipients of prestigious award as musical icons. Ten of the artists are first-time nominees.

The 2024 nominees are: Queen of Hip-Hop Soul Mary J. Blige, Mariah Carey, Sade, Cher, David Matthews Band, Eric B. & Rakim, Foreigner, Peter Frampton, Jane’s Addiction, Kool & The Gang, Lenny Kravitz, Oasis, the late Sinead O’Connor, Ozzy Osbourne, and A Tribe Called Quest.

Mary J. Blige was previously nominated in 2011. Eric B. & Rakim were nominated back in 2012, so it is great to see them back in the nominations. A Tribe Called Quest was on the ballot in 2023. Mariah Carey, Kool & The Gang, and Lenny Kravitz received their first nominations.

Rock and Roll Class of 2024 inductees will be announced in mid-to-late April. Rock and Roll’s headquarters is located in Cleveland, where this year’s ceremony will be held.
