LAS VEGAS — Five-time NBA champion Magic Johnson hosted a celebrity-rich Super Bowl LVIII soiree, epitomizing his status as the quintessential member of the “Mt. Rushmore Super Bowl Bash,” held at the ostentatious Fontainebleau Casino and Resort hotel.
Johnson, universally considered a basketball revolutionary and the greatest NBA point guard of all time, was his customary charismatic and loquacious self as he discussed his legacy, giving back, and, of course, Super Bowl LVIII.
Johnson invited Spencer Haywood, a fellow Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Famer, with whom he won the 1980 NBA championship when Johnson was just a rookie.
Others in attendance included Kendall Jenner and comedian Torrei Hart, the ex-wife of Kevin Hart, who is currently on two comedy tours — her own solo gig and the other with caustic comedian Katt Williams. Joy Taylor, a co-host of the popular “Speak” show on Fox Sports, was also there, accompanied by country singer Blanco Brown.
For the sophisticated soiree, Johnson partnered with the architects of luxury, Jeffrey Soffer and Brett Muffson, to produce the Mt. Rushmore Super Bowl Bash. Grand Mariner presented the gala, a Fat Cats Live! production in support of the Y.E.S. Society.
